Umwelt 2021
Exhibited at the Bastille Design Center in Paris, France.
Umwelt, depicts my personal journey through my environment in Switzerland and France. The German definition of environment (Umwelt) mentions that an environment is everything that surrounds a person, but also influences one. Using photography as my visual language, I evoke a dialogue between natural and urban environments: the pure and the manufactured, attempting to reveal their often hidden beauty -the dialogue being part of it. Umwelt allows me to express my fondness of nature and explore my interest of urban architecture, and how they relate to each other. Furthermore, I intend to photograph the city as a landscape, and nature as architecture. My work not only questions the natural and the manufactured, but also reconnects me with my childhood memories.
